Master plan for small towns and rural areas

On Jönköping municipality’s website, you can find up-to-date information on the work to produce a new comprehensive plan for Jönköping municipality’s smaller urban areas and rural areas, through the development strategy 200,000 inhabitants. According to the timetable, a consultation proposal will be presented in the spring of 2023, when there will be an opportunity to comment on the proposal.

The second part of the development strategy for 200,000 inhabitants, which together with the first part will become the municipality’s new comprehensive plan, covers the municipality’s smaller urban areas and other parts of the municipality with rural areas:

  • Bottnaryd, Northern Mo
  • Gränna, Örserum
  • Kaxholmen, Skärstad, Ölmstad
  • Lekeryd, Svarttorp
  • Tenhult, Ödestugu, Öggestorp
  • Visingsö

What happens next?

In the fall of 2021, a citizen dialogue was conducted to obtain views and ideas on the part of the development strategy that includes the municipality’s smaller urban areas and rural areas. A summary of the results of the Citizens’ Dialogue can be found further down this page. We are currently preparing a consultation proposal, with a consultation period planned for spring 2023. The consultation on the draft development strategy 200 000 – small towns and rural areas means that you can read the proposal and make comments on it during a certain period. All documentation will be available on this website and in the municipal exhibition hall at Juneporten in Jönköping.

After the consultation, the proposal is refined and in the fall of 2023, the plan is to present the refined proposal of the development strategy for small towns and rural areas at the review stage. All comments received on the proposal and the municipality’s assessment of them will be compiled in a consultation report, which will then be presented in the review proposal.
